The Little One
This young cub is learning fast from mom, after having almost fell several times. It has finally learned how to navigate the tree, so it didn't fall. It's such a thrill to see a mother and her cub. We know that cubs don't have a high probability of making it to adulthood, but we are rooting for this young one.

The Migration is ON!

It's June and the wildebeest are in the Western Corridor. They are EVERYWHERE, and en route to the hot air balloon, we were stalled by at least 15 minutes due to the huge volume of wildebeest blocking the road at 4:30 in the morning.

The Crowd of Hippo
Переглядів 68Рік тому
Crowd Theory. They do everything here, there is no water conservation. Eat, sleep, mate, mark their territory, meeting. They do come out occasionally to graze, but not for long. Occasionally, you can see them lazing on the cool grass, not far from the water. As big as these hippo are, they can move though.
The JOURNEY

This moment was our 'giraffe' moment. Everywhere we turned, there were giraffe, adult ones and little ones, and it was fascinating to watch each and every one of them. A Journey is the collective term for a group of giraffe.
Elephant Walk
Переглядів 65Рік тому
On the way to water during midday walk, this herd of elephants seemed to come out of nowhere. We didn't want to go off road to go around them and we couldn't really back up where we were. So we maintained radio silence and vehicle silence (in whispers) as they gently walked around us. What a moment these gentle giants gave us!

Many ask me how I got started in Africa, planning, leading and organizing safaris. It wasn't easy but it certainly wasn't something I ever thought of. But a series of incidents occurred and it is what led me to do this. Hear my story and see how I rose from tragedy to triumph. Even I am surprised by the chain of events.
